you will need to insert pins 2,7,8 into your existing ccc plug. we can not do it, because it is inside your car, not inside the ccc unit. bmw e60 e61 e63 e64 2004-2006 were not equipped with aux port, so if its your case you will gain aux port for free pretty much. dealer charges 300-400$ for it alone!!!! 1. Open the glovebox. 2. Remove the plastic cover in the back of the glovebox, this is the cover that hides the DVD changer. 3. Remove the lower part of the glovebox. Well after having intermittent iDrive problems (see this thread and video) last Summer I had a completely new CCC unit fitted and for the last 8months all has been well. Alas as summer approaches again it seems the iGremlins that live in the iDrive have been awoken from their iHibernation and gone about destroying things again.
So if your head unit is blown, you need to replace the head unit. The Android unit is a display unit, it does NOT replace the ccc unit. There is a thread here in the E60 forum for a place here in the US that will repair your head unit for $500. Should still be here on the front page as I've read it in the last couple of days.
So it seems that BMW cars manufactured after Sept 2007 with iDrive work. Cars with bluetooth and no iDrive work. Cars pre Sept 2007 with iDrive regardless of iDrive / BT SW version do not work. I apologise if I am incorrect, hence a summary would be useful. Thanks
All of the other voice command functions work well, i.e. requests for: online search, navigation addresses, contacts, etc. BUT the dictation function to create the messages for texting and emails. It is intermittant, but does not work about one in three times. As recommended by a BMW NA Genius, I rebooted iDrive to no avail.
To eliminate the number of contacts being the problem, I took all my exchange contacts off the phone leaving only the contacts on the phone (saved in iCloud). That is a total of 286 contacts which seems to be a modest number. I then turned on the car, and counted (manually) the number of contacts in the car contacts file.
Aux input not working. Hi, i recently purchased a 2015 E84 and its been great except the aux input for the head unit is not working and this one has no bluetooth. I never realised how important this thing is. I have taught of buying an aftermarket single din just to have bluetooth. All shops i have gone to are saying i cant just buy a single
Hi, A few days ago I bought a 2004 525i. Very well maintained car and the interior is in showroom condition. The other day the idrive screen went blank and came back on after about an hour. Now the screen won't come on at all. Radio and CD player work. I checked a fuse in the trunk and it's ok.
BMW iDrive version 1-04-09-500 0 (BMW 525d E60 2005) Build July 2004 I've tried a few custom ROMs now without success, if the bluetooth itself could be patched up that would be nice, if I need to downgrade the bluetooth please let me know where to begin as I have only just begun tinkering with Rooting and Custom ROMs.
Recently purchased a used 2004 645ci convertible and the idrive screen is completely blank as well as the nob being loose. The radio does not work but I am able to hear the dings that sound through the speaker as warnings such as low gas appears on my main dashboard. Would I need to replace the ccc unit or is there some sort of reprogramming
1st, I think you need to read up on the latest iDrive software discussions - a lot of custom Siemens bits (called TLA) and some Sun Java bits as well and a different OS altogether. Not clear at all if Windows Auto is still even there. At any rate a lot has changed since the original 7 series iDrive came out. Just to say thanks to scoopz once more for the great work on highlighting the whole iPhone 3G contacts sync problem with BMW iDrive- nice work Neil. 🙂. I’ve just downloaded & installed firmware 2.2 & removed the additional fake 2000 contacts, leaving my original 200 contacts on the iPhone. sQvY.
